••* ́ ̈`*•.☆• REVIEW of the RICOCHET SERIES by Heather C. Leigh •☆.•* ́ ̈`*••

••* ́ ̈`*•.☆• SERIES REVIEW •☆.•* ́ ̈`*••

*~* Series Synopsis *~*

Rick "Ricochet" Brennan served eight years as an elite Marine special ops Force Recon soldier. After an injury, and the terrible memories from that night, he retires and goes to work for his former Command Officer, Howard "Mack" McEvoy, at his training center in Atlanta.

Sanctum MMA appears on the surface to be a normal gym, training elite fighters to be the best. Except each trainer, hand-picked by Mack, possesses a special background that allows Mack to run one of the best-kept secrets in the country.

When twenty-four year old Quinn Wallace finally escapes her abusive husband, she turns to her father’s old Marine Corps buddy, Mack, for help. Broken and skittish, Quinn finds herself surrounded by large, intimidating men— men who could easily overpower her. She avoids them the best she can, but when Rick turns out to be more than just a rough fighter with bruised knuckles, she finds herself wondering if she can allow herself to trust again.

Ricochet is a full-length novel to be released as three parts.

***These books contain hot sweaty men, sexy scenes for those over 18, and uncomfortable, sometimes violent scenes.***

REVIEW:

Ricochet: Locked & Loaded (Ricochet #1)

Locked and Loaded was a great book because you have the excitement of the military combat, the fight within oneself, and the fighting of feelings for others.

Rick "Ricochet" Brennan is an ex military hunk that is in constant battle within himself so it makes all the things in his life a bit of a challenge. I really enjoyed Ricks character because he shows you that a big strong man can be soft yet hard at the same time.

Quinn Wallace is such a strong woman in this book between an abusive husband and the loss of her dad. I really liked Quinn because this girl has been through the ringer but she never gives up. Now with a chance at a real life filled with love and independence she still lives in fear everyday.

Although this book touches on the military and an MMA gym it is not solely about that. This book touches on different battles that some of us fight everyday. This was an awesome book and I am anxious to start the next!! Five Ricocheting stars have been granted :)

REVIEW:

Ricochet: Friendly Fire (Ricochet #2)

Heather did not disappoint with this book at all. It is exciting, angsty, and sexy. Between all the sexy gym heads and Quinn's past things are a bit crazy but it makes the book awesome. The characters are great because they are all protective of who they love and care about regardless of their place in each others lives. I am on to the last one now. I am sorry for the short review but I can't wait any longer!!

REVIEW:

  Ricochet: Extraction Point (Ricochet #3)

This was a perfect end to this series. This book was awesomely filled with suspense, love and a little fear. Heather really did an awesome job portraying all sides of this story and it truly makes me want to go get ALL her other books. The characters in this book is just as the others in the series AWESOME!!

Quinn is the girl that thinks she is broken because of her past but finds throughout this series that she is a lot stronger than she or her ex ever gave her credit for.

Rick is the big strong Marine that is brought to his knees by a sweet young guy with no idea where it will lead him.

I truly loved this series and hope you all will read it!!

Gibson's Legacy Book Cover
Title: Gibson’s Legacy
Author: K.L. Shandwick
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance
Date of Publication: December 19, 2014
About Gibson’s Legacy
Gibson Barclay has been famous for almost seven years and he's only twenty four.
Seldom does anyone pick up a magazine, newspaper or watch a television entertainment show, without seeing his image or reading about his promiscuous antics. He had no need to court publicity with his magnetic charm and charismatic ways; when he chooses to cooperate that is. Shrugging off the advice of publicists and image consultants, Gibson makes no excuses for who he is, and with no ties, he answers to no one about how he chooses to live his life.
From teenage musician to twenties mega rock star, Gibson has seen and done it all. Women fantasize about him and men envy his rock scene, womanizing lifestyle. Only one person ever made Gibson feel uncomfortable about the way he lived his life. No one ever said no to him that he can remember, although there was two minute events that he has never been able to shake from his mind. Both of those events involved the way Chloe Jenner looked at him. It was something and nothing, but for him, the impact haunted him. In the strangest twist of fate, something so wildly obscure occurred, that set his mind ablaze with the memory of that small encounter.
Like all women, Chloe found Gibson striking and had even shared with friends, her own guilty fantasy about him. Fantasy and reality were poles apart and Chloe believed that Gibson Barclay never even knew that she existed.
*Adult Contemporary Romance – Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not suitable for readers under the age of eighteen.*

Excerpt
Hands invaded my body space and ran up and across my pectorals, my head dropping to see what she was doing. She glided her palms around and under my arms, until they stopped on both scapula bones on my back. Stroking me, she smiled suggestively and continued to trail downwards toward my ass, and by the time I made eye contact with her, she was so close her hot panting breaths were fanning over my face. Groupies had no shame. Then again, I was so fucking wired after the gig, I needed something to bring me down, and an easy fuck meant I didn't have to be charming or polite to anyone. This girl knew the score and she was begging for it.

*~* My Review *~*

Wow.. I really LOVED this book!! On to the character reviews...

Chloe is an amazing young woman that is smart, beautiful and loyal to those she loves. She is educated and bright but that doesn't always help you in situations of abuse. Being with her high school sweetheart, Kace and spending seven years together should have been everything it started out to be right? Nope... Her innocence was ripped away and she was left raw by the only man she had ever given herself to. Only then did her grandfather that has been dead since she was a child, save her from her misery.

Gibson is a sexy lead for the band M3rcy. He is a rock god to girls locally and some not locally. Gibson was also a sex god and made sure to show all the ladies he chose exactly what that meant. Chloe has witnessed this several times and she was inbedded in his brain forever. As he became successful world wide he still hasnt forgotten about Chloe. Although life was awesome on the road he really yearned for something more stable but it will be long before that will happen or so he thought...

This book was such a crazy turn of events that you really are hooked from the first chapter. I am really looking forward to reading more of K.L.'s work. Five heart pounding stars have been granted :)

*~* Synopsis *~*

One lie can destroy everything…

After enduring years of manipulation and an immeasurable amount of loss, Charlotte Kelly makes one last ditch effort to change her life and try to find happiness again. She knows she’ll see him when she moves back to Wisconsin. She’s planning on it, the connection she still feels to him after all these years is undeniable. But one lie tore them apart years ago, and she’s afraid some mistakes can’t be forgiven.

Travis Parker doesn’t like liars. When he was younger, lies burned him in a bad way. It only took one summer with Charlotte’s innocence to know that she was it for him. When he thought he finally had something to look forward to, one misguided lie shattered everything he believed. Now, Char’s back, but she’s not the same girl he once knew.

*~* Review *~*

It will grab you, it will hug, you and it will love you. I really needed this book. I can't explain it but I just did. On to the character reviews..

Charlotte is just a strong girl that truly doesn't know her strength. She goes through so much loss that I just don't know how she didn't fall off the deep end. Char was a very loving and dedicated daughter that took care of her mom through everything they go through. She works, pays the bills, cleans, takes care of everything that could be done. I really loved Charlotte because she just never loses the love and connection she has with Travis. Even through the twisted mental and physical abuse she endures she keeps faith she will find him again.

Travis is a broken man that is trying to move forward after his loss. He is broken by what has happened in the past and has given up on his dreams. Being such a strong caring man really pulls at your heart strings but once he finds his true path things fall into place he begins to truly live and find happiness. Travis is such an amazing man throughout this whole book and you can't help but fall hard for him.

This book was so awesome between, loss, love, fear, more loss you are lost in a whirlwind of emotions. One minute you'll be tearing up and the next you might be giggling but mostly you will be filled with hope. Five sweet and loving stars have been granted :)
