Review: The Do-Over

The Do-Over The Do-Over by L.E. Bross
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a very sweet romance. Started with a frustratingly spoiled rich gal that had been brought back to the real world by her crappy husband because he was doing illegal things behind the scenes. In turn caused them to lose everything and Mel lost her husband on top of all that. Melanie ended up in a small beach town without all her normal essentials like upscale restaurants, awesome delivery, and something great on every corner.

In this little beach community all she had was her sister and a temporary life. She fights to get back to her upscale NY lifestyle but in the mean while she's helping her little sister with her business and waiting for er niece or nephew to be born. Luckily she finds more there than just a beautiful cottage and an ocean that soothes her..

I really enjoyed reading this book and the love that is throughout it. Between the relationships and friendships this book is an all out happy read with just lil spunk. The spunk is all Mel for sure!!!

Review: Untitled Beauty

Untitled Beauty Untitled Beauty by C.E. Wilson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have never read a book quite like this or any other that C.E. has written. She just astounds me with the craziness that is bouncing around in her pretty little head. lol She comes out with these books that just have me in a trance. I could not put this book down except to sleep and even then I was thinking about this book.

C.E. puts so much into her books like love, compassion, hatred, understanding, and longing. The way she makes all her characters easy to read and understand the life the are living with the details really pulls it all together in your head.

Eleven has been trained and sold to people that will never treat her like anything other than a dog or a piece of meat. She will always be treated like nothing more that the chained up animal they see her as. Thankfully for her that does not last as long as what she anticipated.

I just loved the connection between Reese and Grace. The fact that she could find someone like her in such a horrible situation is just amazing and I can definitely relate on so many levels. All the things he goes through to be with her and stay with her is just awesome and heartwarming.

C.E. is just amazing and I can not wait to read more of this series!!!

Review: Crashing Into You

Crashing Into You Crashing Into You by B.D. Rowe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a great read. I was constantly wondering what was gonna happen next. It was very unpredictable at times and the roller coaster of emotions was crazy.

Sydney has been through so much that when she gets to college she hopes her life will get better. For the most part it does but her past is always lurking in her head. Having a major crush on her roommates bf actually helps to keep her mind off of her past until she is put in similar situations that bring it all back again.

Melanie and Evan are just two college kids in love and enjoying college life. Finals were coming around the corner so they do a bunch of studying, parties and more parties until one night changes everyone's lives.

Although there were predictable parts, I feel like there was enough drama, emotions and craziness going on that it keeps you wanting more. Great read BUT it ends with a bit of a "Uh what's next" feel to it. There really should be another one but it's not a cliffhanger.

COVER REVEAL

FROM USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR M. ROBINSON
RELEASE DATE: November 8th
Cover Model: Marshall Perrin
Cover Design by: The Final Wrap

I once read that every warrior hoped an honorable death would find him. I always went looking for mine, but not even the Reaper wanted me.
I was trained to kill. I was trained to not ask why. To take orders and just march in line. Hooah motherfucker.
Life or death.
Ride or die.
And I’m not only talking about the military. I’m talking about the life that led me on the road to nowhere.
My life.
I fought for my brothers.
I fought for my family.
I fought for my country.
And I fought for her…

Never realizing I might die for them too.

I sat under a tree in an open field, waiting for the twelve o’clock train to pass through town. Another habit I formed growing up. I loved nothing more than trucking through the woods on my dirt bike near the tracks.  Finding myself in the middle of nowhere, relishing the freedom.
Waiting…
Thinking…
Contemplating…
The past. The present. The future.
Then. Now. Forever.
My fucking life.
Wishing I could get on the next train and never look back. But it was just that. A wish. A glimmer of hope outside of the bullshit called my life. Nothing had changed since the last time I fucking lived in this goddamn town. No welcome home party from family or friends, no thanks or parades from the town residents for serving our country.
Nothing.
Everything I had done, I had done it for him. If I didn’t have my baby brother, Noah, to look after, I would have never come back here. I thought I was done with this place, I left my past behind and everything that came along with being a Jameson. Then life reared its ugly head and snapped me back to my reality. In the end it never mattered, I would always be on the wrong side of the tracks and they would always lead me to the wrong station. Changing my people, places, and things throughout the years didn’t help change the outcome of the choices I’d made. Of the things I’d done.
I fought for my goddamn brothers.
I fought for my goddamn country.
Never realizing…
I might fucking die for them too.

1)     I hate how beauty permits enslaving the beasts.
With money and a sponsor, even the ugliest person can have flawlessness and receive anything they’d want out of life. With good looks, they can live a full life. The old days when anyone could be ugly and still live happily and normally are long gone. Flawlessness and beauty is the only way to survive. Flawlessness comes naturally with good genes or money. By any means possible, Potentials have to find a way to obtain beauty.
This new life offers five chances to earn the title of Beauty. Five measly chances to prove your worth to people who hold the right to exist peacefully in this cruel world in their porcelain-like hands.

2)     Play by the rules when dealing with Beauties. That is the only way to survive.
My true name isn’t Eleven, but, I’ll let my new family decide what they’ll call me.
Here I am – seventeen years old and an Eleven. So close and yet so far from being beautiful.
I tug on the chain hanging from my neck in irritation and bite my lower lip for a second before looking up towards the tiny hole in my cell door, my only source of light.
I may be a Potential, but my true name is Grace. And I will achieve beauty by any means possible.

3)     “I want to see you. Won’t you please lift your head?”
His kind voice and false modesty are making me sick. He only wants to look at me to satisfy himself. He only wants to see what I look like because he’s flawless. He’s sicker than the other ones. Maybe not as sick as Shawn – I have the scabs on my lips to prove that – but being less sadistic than a controlling megalomaniac isn’t that impressive.
But before I can tell my body to resist, I jerk up my head and focus my sharp hazel eyes on his.
Recognition. A long-forgotten memory surges into my mind, but it is driven away by a sharp pain at my neck. As the memory retreats, waves of pain replace it until the world is made of agony and darkness.
Then only darkness.

Synopsis:

For years, bookstore owner, Émile Capet, lived his life simply... carefully guided by a family curse. Happy in his book world.

With the request for a certain rare book, he begins to question why someone would be fascinated by paved stones. How could they be considered romantic? To him, they were often dangerous. His conclusion is confirmed when he finds himself rescuing a beautiful woman sprawled out on a cobblestone sidewalk.

However, this emotionally guarded hero may change his opinion and his lifestyle once he gets to know the injured woman who just so happens to possess a special edition of the much sought after Romancing the Cobblestone book.

Avril Paulson, a book collector, owns an online book business which allows her to experience life as, what she calls, a book gypsy. She hasn’t lived in one location for several years, loving the thrill of new adventures. Staying at a client’s apartment in Paris, she finds herself being rescued by a gorgeous Frenchman after tumbling over cobblestones.

Ironically, the two begin an awkward dance of the unknown, contemplating the same question… Cobblestone: dangerous or romantic

Could it be that it is a little bit of both?
